Wollongong Roller Hawks Tristan Knowles and Brett Stibners have been named in the Australian wheelchair basketball team that will be going for gold at the Paralympic Games in September.
The Wollongong duo will be key members of the team in Beijing, which will attempt to go one better than in Athens, where they finished with a silver medal four years ago.
Knowles, who is going to his second Paralympics, said the team had high expectations.
"We want gold," he said. "I think if we come home with anything but gold, we've underachieved.
"We've got the team and we've got the support staff to get gold so there's no reason why we shouldn't (get it)."
Wollongong has a third representative in the squad - Brendan Dowler, who captains West Sydney in the National wheelchair basketball league.
It will be led by Troy Sachs, who will be attending his fifth Games, with 17-year-old Victorian Dylan Alcott the baby of the Rollers squad.
Australia have been among the leading wheelchair basketball nations for the past four years and Knowles admits to being nervy ahead of the biggest tournament on the calendar.
"I guess when you look at all your efforts over the past four years all going into a performance over two weeks, you could say I'm a bit nervous," Knowles said.
"But I have the benefit of going to Athens, so I've got that experience.
"We have a very experienced team which is good because we're all very focused on getting to China and doing our job. (It's) just going to be a matter of getting in there and performing well and eliminating the hype a bit."
