Both the open male and open female records blew away in the wind at the Athletics NSW Road Relay Championships in Wollongong on Saturday.
Tim Rowe of the St George club broke the open male record by covering the 4km course in 11min16sec, while the female record was claimed by Emma Rilen in 12:55.
The open male team gold was claimed by the Randwick Botany runners, ahead of St George and Kembla Joggers.
Randwick Botany also captured the open female gold medal ahead of Sydney University and Sutherland.
Host club Kembla Joggers achieved their team's best effort in 10 years of representation by the club at Athletics NSW winter racing.
The Joggers scored six gold, five silver and six bronze medals for a total of 17 medals.
They were up against 24 other teams in the championships.
Junior boys from under 12s to under 20s set the stage for the seniors by taking two gold and three silver medals from the five teams in that age range.
Kembla Joggers proved they have a strong platform of under 20 runners by taking out the gold medal.
Another three under 20 runners, Ryan Gregson, Ryan Hennessy and Daniel Bulmer, then stepped up and took a bronze in the open team category.
Kembla Joggers junior girls' teams made a major contribution to the club's point score, with the under 12s, under 14s, under 15s and under 18s all claiming podium finishes.
The club's senior runners who scored medals included female 35+ (gold), male 35+ (silver and bronze), female 45+ (gold) and male 55+ (bronze).
The great results from the Kembla Joggers teams will see them retain the Athletic NSW winter club trophy for 2008.
