St George Illawarra star Jason Nightingale yesterday revealed his desire for a permanent switch to fullback in the future.
The Dragons leading try-scorer this season with 12, Nightingale has shifted to fullback for the past fortnight while Brett Morris is out with a shoulder injury.
And while the New Zealand international is content playing on the wing for the time being, he admitted wanting to make his name as a fullback.
"I've enjoyed it, it's a lot more running, but it's good for me to get my hands on the ball a bit more," he said.
"Later in my career I wouldn't mind a shift to fullback ... when I learn the wing game down pat and work on my support game around the ruck."
Nightingale's rise to prominence this year has been stunning. He led the NRL try-scorers list mid-season following his selection for the Kiwis in the Centenary Test.
Coach Nathan Brown has shifted captain Mark Gasnier back to a more traditional centre role in recent games after weeks with him playing fullback in attack.
And the move paid off, with Gasnier scoring a double in the 24-20 win over the Broncos on Friday night.
Nightingale said he had benefitted from playing the fullback role full-time, rather than switching to the wing when Gasnier was moved in attack.
Meantime, returning second-rower Ben Creagh yesterday declared himself 100 per cent for Sunday's battle with the Warriors at WIN Stadium.
"(I'm) a lot more confident than last time, my legs are a lot stronger," he said.
"But I'm a lot more confident than last time.
"I'm looking forward to getting back out there on the edge again and do my best and I think my fitness will be fine."
While Creagh is raring to play, Dragons five-eighth Jamie Soward is still in some doubt with a back injury, after not training yesterday.
Soward is still expected to be fit, but Ben Rogers, who this week signed with Newcastle for next season, is on stand-by to come into the team, while young second-rower Matt Prior is expected to hold his place on the bench.
