The National Rugby League judiciary took no action against St George Illawarra prop Jason Ryles over his farcical send-off in the loss to premiers Melbourne.
But Storm superstar Billy Slater is facing a two-week ban for his role in the wild first-half melee at Olympic Park on Monday night.
Slater was identified as a key instigator in the brawl, which erupted after Dragons five-eighth Jamie Soward took exception to a tackle around the neck from Melbourne halfback Cooper Cronk.
He came from some distance to be involved in the fracas and duked it out with Dragons winger Jason Nightingale.
While Nightingale escaped punishment for retaliating to Slater, Dragons second-rower Beau Scott was slapped with a one-game ban for his role in the fight.
Slater, Soward and Storm prop Adam Blair were all sin-binned by referee Gavin Badger, before Ryles was sent from the field after kicking out at Jeff Lima as a scrum packed down.
But the NRL judiciary yesterday agreed with coach Nathan Brown's assessment after the undermanned Dragons 26-0 loss that Ryles had "already served his penalty".
Even though he escaped suspension and will line-up against the Bulldogs at ANZ Stadium on Monday night, Ryles said it was difficult to handle leaving the Dragons undermanned and doomed to defeat against the rampaging Storm.
"The most disappointing thing for me on a personal level is letting down the guys and the coaching staff because I wasn't out there," he said. "But that's life, I have to live with that and keep going. We're all in it together.
"We just have to get back into training and get ready for the Bulldogs.
"(The loss is) only a little bit of a hiccup."
Brown last night named an unchanged line-up for the clash with the struggling Dogs, while superstar second-rower Sonny-Bill Williams was named for the Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs suffered a 40-22 loss to the New Zealand Warriors last weekend.
