Illawarra Mercury Portofino 2011 Sports Star of the Year Awards
They've won national and state honours, shone on the international stage and on February 24, the region's best sportsmen and women will be honoured at the Illawarra Mercury Portofino 2011 Sports Star of the Year Awards.
The 2010 Sports Star of the year winner St George Illawarra Dragons proved themselves as the best team in the NRL competition beating the Sydney Roosters in the grand final at ANZ Stadium.
This year, nominees for the 2011 awards represent eight sports.
